(k)ickstart™ your retirement

(k)ickstart™ is Human Interest’s program to encourage positive retirement savings behavior. The program is available to anyone in an employer-sponsored 401(k) or 403(b) provided by Human Interest Inc. The program is designed especially for first-time savers and includes educational tools like (k)ickstart™ classroom, a 10-part series of financial wellness videos, resources, and more. In addition to education, the program includes our 3% cash back incentive: a gift card worth 3% of payroll contributions up to $250 made by eligible participants during a 12-month saving stint. 3% cash back is a financial incentive designed to encourage people to save for retirement. It’s a key component of our (k)ickstart™ program. To qualify, a participant must earn $60,000 or less per year. Qualifying participants will receive 3% cash back on their payroll contributions during the  12-month saving period. We know 3% is not the same for everyone, so we are offering a minimum cash back award of $100 and a max of $250. You’ll receive your award in the form of a gift card via email. This offer is available to employees who are enrolled in a 401(k) or 403(b) plan administered by Human Interest Inc., making $60,000 or less in gross income over the 12-month qualifying saving period, and have not made an existing deferral election under the Plan (as of January 1, 2024, you cannot increase an existing deferral to qualify).

To qualify for 3% cash back, you will also need to make sure you’ve completed onboarding with your plan in your account Dashboard and are deferring at least 8% of your pay during the entire 12-month qualifying saving period.

After saving for 12 months, don’t forget to claim your award by submitting your claim form! The form must be submitted within 6 months of completing your 12-month saving period to claim your award. No, so long as you contribute 8% of your compensation during a 12-month period on each paycheck. The contributions can be made on a traditional and/or Roth basis.

To make it easier, we’ll track your contribution rate for you. You’ll just need to fill out a form at the end of your 12-month contribution period to request your gift card.

The truth is that most of us aren’t saving enough to have a financially secure retirement. Saving less just won’t get you there. If it feels like a lot, know that we have retirement savers with Human Interest who are already contributing at least 8% per paycheck.

Gift cards are emailed to recipients after they meet the conditions applicable to this offer. The earliest date participants can qualify to receive a gift card is 6/1/24 (12 months after the program launch date of 6/1/23).

We’re taking advantage of a new provision passed as part of SECURE Act 2.0 Section 113. This provision allows small financial incentives to be given to employees to encourage them to sign up and participate in their 401(k).
